Mahle announces its top prize at AAPEX 2019: A 1,100-hp Dodge Challenger

The Mahle Aftermarket “Drive with the Original” promotion is giving away a custom-built Dodge Challenger at the 2019 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX)  in Las Vegas, Nov. 5-7.

This is the third vehicle Mahle is giving away, the fist was a 1,000-hp custom Mustang, and the second an 800 HP Camaro.

“With this year’s grand prize, we’re going to complete the ‘Detroit Three’ and another classic piece of American Muscle with Dodge and asked Petty’s Garage to build an 1,100-HP Hemi powered Challenger. We feel this is going to be a real showcase for our family of Mahle gaskets, filters, pistons and rings, as well as our Clevite engine bearings,” said Jon Douglas, president Mahle Aftermarket NA.

Mahle has posted a series of videos documenting the custom build of the Challenger at Petty’s Garage from design, to engine build, to testing the finished vehicle.

The “Drive with the Original” promotion runs through Oct. 1 and culminates in four finalists randomly selected from all entries to receive a trip for two to AAPEX in Las Vegas.

Richard Petty will be present when the finalists each select a key from the King’s signature Carlie One Horse hat, one of which will start the engine of the dream car.

Hundreds of additional instant win prizes including Richard Petty Driving Experiences, autographed Richard Petty signature Charlie One Horse cowboy hats, autographed #43 die-cast model cars, and other prizes are available.
