E.R.I. Engine Rebuilders Inc. held an open house to show off its new warehouse that builds both its inventory capabilities and improves its logistics.
“We’re only 30 to 40 minutes from anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area,” says buying group president Richard Miller, “and since we’re only 25 minutes from the Toronto airport, Tiger Air can have orders to members across Canada by early the next morning.” He says one member in Western Canada who needed a set of oversize pistons quickly had them by the next morning with a shipping cost of only about $10.
The new facility, located at the eastern end of Markham, Ont., houses 3,750 square feet of warehouse space and 3,200 square feet of office space. Miller says that they have room to grow into the facility, which they began moving into last November. “Our suppliers have all been very helpful with improving and expanding our inventories, product offering and coverage,” says Miller.
The E.R.I. warehouse will serve the engine builder buying group’s members. Currently, the group has more than 230 members located across Canada.
