CBS News’ Bob Schieffer to Headline AAIA Town Hall

Bob Schieffer, anchor of “Face the Nation” and CBS News chief Washington correspondent, will headline this year’s AAIA Town Hall in Las Vegas.
Hosted by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and sponsored by NASCAR Performance, the Town Hall will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 a.m. in the Palazzo Ballroom in the Venetian Hotel.
Schieffer has anchored the CBS Evening News and covered Washington, D.C. for CBS News for more than 30 years.
He is one of the few broadcast or print journalists to have covered all four major beats in the nation’s capital the White House, the Pentagon, the State Department and Capitol Hill.
“Town Hall attendees will hear and see first-hand the candid views, observations and predictions on political, economic, global and other issues of the most well-known and respected journalists of our time,” said Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA president and CEO, and moderator of the AAIA Town Hall.
Dick Morgan, AAIA chair and president of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc., will participate in this year’s AAIA Town Hall program.
Morgan and Schieffer have been close friends since playing on the same high school baseball team in Fort Worth, Texas.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing the stage with my longtime friend, and to join Bob and Kathleen in a lively dialogue about the important issues impacting the lives of everyone working in the aftermarket industry,” Morgan said.
AAIA is a Bethesda, Md.-based association whose more than 23,000 member and affiliates manufacture, distribute and sell motor vehicle parts, accessories, service, tool, equipment, materials and supplies.
Through its membership, AAIA represents more than 100,000 repair shops, parts stores and distribution outlets.
