Tenneco’s Walker Emissions Control brand has introduced several additional EPA-compliant manifold and close-coupled catalytic converters covering a combined total of more than 9 million registered passenger vehicles. The new Walker Ultra manifold converters, like the original equipment units for the corresponding applications, are engineered to be installed directly onto the engine cylinder head while the close-coupled units mount directly to the manifold. Locating a catalytic converter closer to the engine helps reduce emissions by ensuring faster converter “light-off” time.
“As an OE manufacturer of manifold and close-coupled converters, Tenneco has unique insight to the design requirements of these converters for many popular vehicle models,” said John Perrin, director of marketing and engineering, North America Aftermarket, Tenneco. “As these vehicle models enter the aftermarket service cycle, repair facilities that choose Walker can be confident they will have the broad coverage and product availability needed to serve their customers.”
Among the latest popular vehicle models now covered by the Walker Ultra manifold converter offering are:
2006-2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse
2011-2014 Ford Fiesta
2003-2011 Toyota Camry
2008-2013 Nissan Rogue
2011-2015 Chevrolet Cruze
All Walker Ultra manifold and close-coupled converters feature an advanced technology catalyst and OE-grade washcoat for optimal performance. In addition to manifold-style converters, the Walker brand offers one of the industry’s most comprehensive lines of EPA-compliant conventional direct-fit converters for OBDII applications as well as a full line of Walker CalCat CARB-compliant converters.
