A new high-performance, semi-slick tire is being made available from Hankook, the company has announced. The Ventus R-s4 is being touted as being “designed for maximized grip, durability and handling performance.”
While semi-slick tires are more known for racing enthusiasts, Hankook said the Ventus is designed for use on your everyday streets. It “is designed for maximum performance under extreme conditions,” the company said in an announcement.
The tire also features a wider-center block for an improved steering response; a two-channel main groove with a hydroplaning function; a variable groove angle to offer optimized block stiffness with no shaking; and a high-stiffness shoulder and shoulder blocks with proven steering response and an improved cornering grip
The company also highlighted the Ventus’ shape means a strong grip on sharp turns and rapid acceleration. With hydrophilic silica added, the tire is said to perform well in wet conditions.
The tire is now available in Canada and exclusively through Atlas Tire and its retail network of retailers, Hankook said.
