U.S. News: Dealer Auto Parts E-Commerce Site Announced

E-commerce provider Parts.com, Inc. has announced a new parts venture.
“New Parts.com” includes some 70,000 parts, equipment and supplies items from 813 manufacturers and was announced at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention in New Orleans.
The site is designed to work in concert with the existing Parts.com offerings to provide parts, equipment and supplies in 13 different categories from tools, painting & cleaning, electrical, fluid power, HVAC, lighting, material handling, metalworking & shop supplies, motors & power transmissions, outdoor equipment, pumps & plumbing, safety & security and a large miscellaneous category with free shipping in the continental United States.
“Parts.com is excited about this new release which accurately reflects the parts.com marketplace as a multi-vertical marketplace offering parts, equipment and supplies to both the retail and wholesale industry,” stated Shawn D. Lucas, president and CEO of parts.com. “Dealers can now procure industrial supplies from our local distributors, sell mechanical and collision parts to their retail and wholesale customers and receive parts orders from the parts.com marketplace as well as our collision partners nationwide.”
Parts.com has also incorporated the parts, equipment and supply catalogs into its back office applications Octane and Raptor, to streamline the procurement process for dealerships and collision repair shops.
Parts.com, based in Sanford, Florida, provides business-to-business electronic commerce software and parts procurement platform provider.
