The second last day of the SEMA SHOW in Las Vegas is one of the busiest of the 4-day event. Things get rolling around 7: 30am and don’t finish until past 10pm.
The seminars begin at 8am with the last one finishing at 5pm.
The Las Vegas Convention Centre’s room N245 is the site for the first batch of seminars that begin at 8am and finish at 9:30am. They include Matt Stavish talking about thriving and surviving in the world of knock-offs and Nora Weinberger discussing growth marketing and advertising. Tina Blackwell will tell everyone about brands that rock while Luanne Brown will speak about developing effective sales presentations. The 8am sessions end up with Mike Cofield talking about strategies for successfully managing multiple stores, Jeff Covel discussing customer service and Don Jodron giving out internet strategies: almost free marketing.
The first technical seminar of the day kicks off at 11am and involves mobile video made easy presented by Rosen Entertainment Systems which ends at 12pm and is followed by a lunch break.
The afternoon starts out with a technical seminar on low restriction intercoolers hosted by Rtech Performance and goes from 1pm-2pm in the convention centre’s room N242.
Jeff Hiat and others show up in room N245 between the hours of 2pm and 3:30pm to discuss many issues including, Hiat’s take on accelerating depreciation and saving taxes. Becky MacDicken looks at the government and the tire industry and Brian Packer focuses on protecting your assets. Kurt Miller tell everyone how to increase sales and profits through credit marketing and Paul Nadjarian finishes off these hour’s seminars by talking about creating robust online sales channels for parts and accessories.
The final seminar of the day is hosted by Chris L. "Chubby" Frederick from 2pm-5pm in room N245, and focuses on survival in the 21st century by increasing cash profits.
Special events for today get rolling at 7:30am and don’t wind down until late into the Vegas night.
The SEMA ambassadors breakfast will be held at the Hilton in the Hilton Centre from 7:30am-8: 45am. The Street Rod Marketing Alliance (SRMA) will have an open council meeting from 7:30am-9am in the Hilton conference rooms 1and 2. A general membership meeting of the Sport Compact Council (SCC) will be held in the convention centre in room N237 from 7:30am-9am. The Professional Restylers Organization (PRO) will have an accessory WD subcommittee meeting in room N239 from 8am-9am. The Truck Cap and Accessory Alliance (TCAA) will hold three separate meetings for members in room S214. The first is for single storeowners at 9am-11am, the second is for multi-store owners also from 9am- 11am and the final meeting is for select committee members from 11am-2pm. Then SEMA presents two separate functions, the first is their industry awards reception from 6:30pm-7: 30pm in the Hilton’s pavilions 7 and 8, the second is their industry awards banquet at the Hilton’s Hilton Centre from 7:30-10pm. Everything comes to a conclusion with the Club SEMA a get together at the Las Vegas Hilton pavilions 9 and 10 from 10pm to your call.
The list of celebrity guests changes everyday and today brings new interesting people to meet and greet while at the show. Included are seven-time NASCAR champion Richard Petty and Formula 1 Mclaren team racecar driver Kimi Raikonen. Ivan Stewart of off-road racing fame and Johnny Unser TV celebrity and former stock-car driver. The author of the classic car movie the Cannonball Run, Brock Yates, also makes an appearance.
