Remanufacturing Association Announces New Chairman

Mike Droullard was installed as the chairman of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) board of directors.
A 40-year veteran of the remanufacturing industry, Mike Droullard, vice president, Sales Special Markets with Brake Parts Inc., began his career in 1960.
His introduction to the industry was a summer job for his father’s business, Partex, baking and stripping the copper from armatures. In 1964, he went to work full-time for his dad and in 1970 was transferred to Los Angeles to run the remanufacturing business the family had there. In 1974, Partex was sold to Safeguard Industries and in 1977 Mike left and went to work for Bjarne Qvale, who owned E.P.E. In 1985, E.P.E. was sold to Echlin, who sold the company to Dana in 1999. The company is now being sold to Cypress.
Droullard has served APRA in many different roles. Aside from being an active member, attending clinics and annual conventions, he has been a regional director, the Clutch Division chairman, and the Brake System chairman. Five years ago he joined the executive committee.
When asked about his new role as chairman, he said, "I view APRA as an invaluable association dedicated to helping the small and large remanufacturer. The remanufacturing industry has become a driving force in the business world today and I am very proud and honored to take my place as incoming chairman."
Droullard will serve as APRA Chairman until after the "International Big R Show" in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 29 – 31, 2005.
