PitPro deploys first automated wheel-changing system

PitPro Automation has installed its automated wheel-changing system at a Kal Tire store in Calgary, marking the company’s first production deployment and its first installation in Canada.

The system is designed for Class 3 and smaller vehicles and fits within a single service bay. Two automated gantries work on all four wheel positions simultaneously, with the company saying a full tire swap can be completed in less than 15 minutes.

The system was publicly introduced in June 2025 and had previously been used in pilot programs. PitPro said additional production systems are scheduled for customer sites this fall.

Kal Tire said the technology is intended to reduce repetitive lifting and physical strain for technicians, particularly during periods of high seasonal demand, while allowing technicians to focus on diagnostic and customer-service work.

The Calgary deployment is part of PitPro’s planned production rollout across North America.
