Centric Parts has released what they are calling an “ambitious” new brake catalogue for 2018.
The 2018 Centric Parts Brake Systems Catalog has a total not 794 new part numbers for 49 individual vehicle makes and 577 models. The 80-page catalogue covers models from 1930 to 2019, has 22,292 new application part listings and 2,095 part numbers covering more than 4,000 applications for 178 2018 and 2019 model year vehicles that had never been catalogued previously.
“We are very excited about this year’s catalogue, which is our most ambitious effort to date. We added more new parts and more new application listings to continue our market leadership in cataloguing,” said Greg Woo, Centric’s president. “Our team has done a tremendous job in gathering, identifying, and incorporating the latest brake parts information available to create what we believe is the most comprehensive and up-to-date brake parts catalogue Centric has ever offered. We take pride in supporting our customers and partners with the right data every time.”
The catalogue also highlights two innovations from the company. First, the StopTech GCX Disc Brake Rotors, which feature a partial GEOMET coating on the friction surface. This results in a 10 per cent faster pad bed-in and eliminates corrosion rings. The GEOMET coating is applied to all non-mating surfaces to inhibit rust formation and provide corrosion resistance.
Second is the StopTech TACTICAL Brake Pads, which are specific to the police and law enforcement equipment market. These pads are designed to eliminate fade in high-speed pursuits and are silent when stealth is required. They have noise abatement technology and are approved by the Automotive Manufacturers Equipment Compliance Agency.
The catalogue is available in both print and online formats.
Centric won the Auto Care Association’s Import Vehicle Community Award for Best Print or Electronic Catalog of a Product Line for Import Cars or Trucks for this catalogue.
“It’s an honour to be recognized by the Import Vehicle Community for the Best Catalog,” said Brian Griffin III, vice president of product management. “Our dedicated team puts a great deal of work into researching and producing the most complete and accurate catalogues possible.
The announcement was made at AAPEX 2017. It’s the fifth time since 2005 that Centric has won the award.
