Hankook Tire Canada opens second Canadian distribution centre

Hankook Tire Canada Corp. has opened its second Canadian distribution centre in Richmond, British Columbia. The new distribution centre will support retailers and multiple distribution points in Western Canada. The company’s operational expansion is a direct result of the continued growth fueled by strong demand for its quality products.

“Hankook Tire experienced great success and a strong presence in Western Canada,” said Bill Hume, vice-president of Hankook Tire Canada. “We strategically chose the Vancouver region for our second distribution centre to better support our retail customers and distributors, expediting our time to market. This new distribution centre is an integral part of our growth strategy in Canada and part of our global long-term strategy to become the next generation tire company.”

The distribution centre is located at 12291 Riverside Way, in Richmond, British Columbia, just outside Vancouver. The distribution centre will provide dealers with easy access to a complete line of Hankook products including ultra-high performance, passenger car, light truck and medium truck tires.  The facility is expected to significantly reduce lead time for product delivery as the result of a competitive shipping policy which includes pre-paid delivery to qualified orders of direct-account customers.

The Richmond-based distribution centre is the second expansion of Hankook Tire Canada. in the last two years. The Canadian head office in Brampton last year, which also consists of a state of the art distribution centre opened in Spring of 2009.
