Longtime employees take ownership of Red Deer’s Elmac Auto Electric

Eldon Bornn and Tiffany Favelle are the new owners of Elmac Auto Electric Ltd., a Bumper to Bumper auto parts store in Red Deer, Alta.

The business has been a fixture in the community since 1981, when it was founded by a local father and son duo Lawrence and Gary McIntosh. Operating under the Bumper to Bumper banner, the store provides automotive parts, tools, accessories and DC electrical equipment testing and servicing.

Bornn and Favelle both started their careers at Elmac — Bornn as a part-time janitor and shelf-stocker in 1993 and Favelle as a parts delivery driver in 2008. Over the years, they worked their way up through every role in the business, earning journeyman certifications in their respective fields at Red Deer Polytechnic with sponsorship from former owner Gary McIntosh.

Now at the helm, Favelle oversees daily operations and staff, while Bornn manages inventory, technical operations and finances. Their connection to Elmac extends beyond work, as they met through the business and have raised their two children, Riley and Cole, in the company environment since 2013.

“I am so pleased to have Eldon and Tiffany take ownership of Bumper to Bumper – Elmac Auto Electric and continue the tradition of customer service excellence as a locally owned and family-operated business in Red Deer,” McIntosh said.
