First Safety Lane Installed In Canada

The first safety test lane in Canada has been installed by MAHA at the Canadian Tire store at Yonge and Steeles Avenue in Toronto.

Canadian Tire is the first garage in Canada to test its customer’s vehicles for side slip (wheel alignment), shock absorbers, brakes and tire tread depth on a single test lane.

The politics of ‘extended maintenance intervals’ and its effect on service has been a fruit bearing topic for some time now. Maintenance and repair demands continue to decline. For this reason, it is imperative that no potential be overlooked at the dialogue reception. And test lanes are the tool available for this purpose.

Test lanes offer an ideal tool of objectively checking a vehicle from head to toe to document the need for repair work. This process establishes transparency and trust. At the same time, a workshop‘s skilled competency is credibly underscored. The scope of the repair can be discussed and decided upon together with the customer. When the vehicle is returned to the customer the success of the repair can be documented in black and white. Distrust and doubt about agreed upon work becomes a thing of the past.

Main inspection programs are another important application for test lanes. High vehicle throughput calls for an optimally coordinated work place to assure lowest possible run through times.

Since January 1st, 2013 MAHA is represented in Canada through its Ottawa office and it has now established a Canadian dealer, installation and service network. MAHA Maschinenbau Haldenwang GmbH & Co. KG has been a leading manufacturer of motor vehicle safety testing equipment and high quality workshop equipment for more than 40 years.

MAHA offers a comprehensive range of vehicle lifts, testing devices and systems for all types of motor vehicles. The product program features a wide choice of lifts, roller brake testers and roller dynamometers, shock absorber testers, platform brake testers, diesel emission testers, side-slip testers and play detectors.
