Do You Feel Powerful?

What does power mean to you? If you are like most people, you probably experience power most when you feel in control of your life. Your own power is measured by your ability to ACHIEVE PERSONAL GOALS and INFLUENCE OTHERS. A powerful person has the FREEDOM to choose from a host of options. A powerful person has CONTROL.
Where does power come from? A lot of your power comes from your ability to communicate. It’s also related to your self-esteem and confidence level. When Francis Bacon stated that knowledge is power, he was likely referring to a basic knowledge of reading and writing. Reading and writing would eventually put knowledge – and power – in the hands of the masses.
Is it enough to be able to read and write today? Does that make you powerful? Not according to Futurist Alvin Toffler. Toffler has said, “the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn”. Think about your current skill set: will those skills be enough to get you where you want to be five years from now? Do you need to unlearn old ways of doing things and acquire sharper, more effective techniques in order to achieve your goals? Are you so busy just keeping up with the day-to-day grind that you find yourself with virtually no time to add to your skill base? We all know that the automotive industry is changing rapidly. How do you personally learn, unlearn and relearn to keep pace?
In conjunction with its industry partners, CARS Network has developed an infrastructure that allows knowledge-seekers to learn and relearn EFFECTIVELY and ECONOMICALLY. CARS Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) is an ideal way for people within the automotive industry to build their skill set right from the comfort of their own workplace. CARS training is broadcast to hundreds of businesses across Canada every day, in both French and English.
In addition to an outstanding line up of technical training, CARS is continually adding to its schedule of business skills training courses. At present, CARS non-technical offerings include a wide range of courses, from human resource management and communications to conflict resolution and business forecasting. New courses in development include PC skills training as well as courses in personal financial management.
At CARS Network, we know that knowledge is power. You tell us what you need and we’ll find the subject matter experts who can give it to you. After all, we are here to empower you: you provide the dreams and aspirations; we’ll provide the knowledge to get you there.
If you think education is expensive, you should try ignorance!
