CarGuru’s data finds used trucks and SUVs lead August sales

New August data from CarGurus shows the Ford F‑150 and RAM 1500 remained Canada’s top‑selling used vehicles, with SUVs and crossovers making up half of the top 10. Seven of the 10 best‑sellers posted lower average listing prices than a year ago, including the Honda CR‑V, Honda Civic, Ford Escape, Mazda CX‑5 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The F‑150 and Toyota RAV4 saw small increases, while the Nissan Rogue was flat.

“The F‑150 and RAM 1500 continue to lead the rankings, while SUVs and crossovers make up half of August’s top 10,” said David Undercoffler, head of consumer insights at CarGurus. “The good news for shoppers is that average listing prices are lower than a year ago for seven of the 10 models on our list.”

The Subaru Crosstrek was the fastest‑moving used vehicle in August at 35 days on the lot, followed by the F‑150 at 36 days and the Honda HR‑V at 36.6 days. All 10 fastest‑moving models sold more quickly than they did a year ago.
