EYE SPY: Tethered connection

EYE SPY: Tethered connection

Jack Maciejewski, owner of JP Auto Service in Mississauga, Ont., discovered this crazy do-it-yourself project under the hood of a 2004 GMC Envoy that was towed in with a no-start condition. Someone purchased and installed the wrong battery – one without side-terminals, so a cable had to be employed to hold it in place. The customer had been driving around like this for a month before the improvisation failed. “The only fix for a situation like this is to install the correct battery,” Jack said.

I only hope the person who installed this doesn’t replace other things like brakes or chassis parts. This is a reason why only qualified people should be working on any repairs on a vehicle.

Right Bob Ward, if ya don’t know, leave it alone. Someone’s gonna get killed, because “I know how to fix it.” Ya, right, leave it alone.
