Former Bestbuy Distributors president Jeff Van de Sande has joined UAP as an executive with the Altrom Auto Group division.

Altrom was previously under Genuine Parts Co. but has moved into the UAP fold. For UAP – which includes NAPA and CMAX – the move adds 400 employees, 25 branches and two distribution centres under the company’s watch.

Altrom specializes in auto parts for European and Asian vehicles.

As part of the changes, Van de Sande was picked to take on the role of senior vice president for Altrom. Van de Sande was previously with NAPA before joining Bestbuy in 2009.

He will work alongside Dave Pawlowski, vice president, sales and marketing; Paul Wilkes, vice president, operations; and Robert Chartrand, vice president, product development.
