2018 MACS Survey looks at refrigerant servicing issues

The Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) is conducting a detailed survey to understand the current servicing profiles being encountered in the field.

The surveys, which were emailed to a wide range of automotive service facilities, offer an opportunity for shops to contribute information about their own service experiences related to different refrigerants.

“There are several million R-1234yf mobile AC systems on the road,” a MACS bulletin states. “However, R-1234yf systems may be requiring minimal servicing and may well still be serviced primarily by the OEM dealerships.”

The association has devised the survey to determining servicing trends and provide a better understanding of the impact of the refrigerants being encountered in the service industry.

“Information collected through this survey may well help shop owners understand where the future of this industry is moving and help inform their decisions regarding future business activities,” the MACS bulletin reads.

Every survey participant will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Visa gift card.
