Foreman’s Integra Tire and Auto in Langley B.C.
A Langley B.C. shop is on the honourable mention list in the Automotive Service Association’s “Best Waiting Area” contest.
Foreman’s Integra Tire and Auto was commended for demonstrating how even a very limited amount of space can be both inviting and efficient.
“My idea was to avoid the big counter kiosk that is a barrier between me and the customer – the ultimate goal was to open that up,” said Peter Foreman. An interesting design element is the counter-height stack of red tires that the customers love.
The contest generated entries from across North America and is the first in a series of ASA competitions aimed at bringing positive attention to repair shops in the U.S. and abroad.
“We are always excited when we can honour those in the auto repair industry who are doing great things,” Fisher said recently. “This contest and other upcoming contests will give us the opportunity to do just that.”
The first place winner was CoAuto of Reno, Nev. with its “Art Gallery meets Auto Repair” entry. V&F Auto Inc. of Agawam, Mass. and WOW Auto Care of Poway, Calif. tied for second place.
Also receiving honorable mention honors were Interstate Auto Care of Madison Heights, Mich., and Old Dominion Collision Repair of Eugene, Ore.
Thanks for the article!
Since when should the waiting area of a shop be it’s attraction? We have the busiest shop in our entire area and it’s not because of our waiting area whatsoever.
I suspect that a clean, inviting waiting area makes customers feel welcome, and gives them confidence that a job will be done professionally. You still have to prove yourself with competence. Given the choice, I think most people would want to go to a shop with an attractive waiting area.
