VIP Panel to Discuss Mustang History at SEMA

With forty years behind it, it takes more than one person to talk about the history of the Ford Mustang.
That’s why Ford Motor Company announced that a panel of its representatives will lead an open discussion with guests at the annual SEMA Education Luncheon and Keynote Address.
The scheduled topic of discussion is “Forty Years of Mustang Performance,” highlighting Ford’s most celebrated vehicle. Hosted by Ford, The luncheon will kick-off education week for the 2004 SEMA Show, Monday, Nov. 1 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Instead of one main keynote speaker, Ford will provide a mix of individuals from the four decades of the Mustang to engage in meaningful dialogue with the audience. “The Mustang wouldn’t have become a cultural icon without stoplight victories and racing cups, so we decided it would be fun to get legends from both worlds together to swap stories,” said Phil Martens, group vice president, Product Creation, North America, Ford Motor Company.
The discussion begins with a brief welcome by Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO, who will introduce the moderator, Casaba Csere, editor in chief of Car and Driver.
Panelists include:
– Carroll Shelby: Automotive Legend and Creator of the Ford Cobra
– Hau Thai-Tang: 2005 Mustang Chief Engineer
– John Coletti: Director of Ford Special Vehicle Team Programs
– Steve Saleen: Founder and President of Saleen, Inc.
– Parnelli Jones: Legendary Auto Racer
– Dan Davis: Director, Ford Racing Technology
