UAP Inc. to close Toronto and London Distribution Centers, Open Cambridge Facility

UAP Inc. has announced that it will be closing its distribution centers in Toronto and London, Ont., in December and moving operations into a new Cambridge facility.
The company says that there will be approximately 100 jobs at the Cambridge facility, which is roughly equidistant from Toronto and London. Approximately 125 people are currently employed at the Toronto and London facilities.
The company says that it will be offering severance packages to those employees who choose not to take up a position at the Cambridge facility.
According to the company, the decision was reached after careful review of the operational, economic and customer needs. UAP has concluded that consolidation in a new facility is the best strategy to optimize customer service.
