
UAP has named Alain Primeau as president, effective December 1.
Primeau, who previously served as executive vice-president, will continue to report to Alain Masse, who moved to take over GPC North America in the summer.
“This appointment highlights his strong leadership, strategic vision, and in-depth knowledge of our organization, developed throughout his remarkable career at UAP,” the company said in a statement. “It also reflects GPC’s commitment to maintaining strong leadership firmly rooted in Canada.”

Primeau has spent more than 20 years with UAP, holding key roles in the automotive and heavy-duty vehicle sectors. His experience spans market strategy, operational optimization and team development across the country. Most recently, as executive vice-president, he distinguished himself by mobilizing the organization and supporting nationwide operations.
“Known for his rigour, his dedication to service, and his commitment to both team members and our clients, Alain is a respected leader with a clear vision for UAP’s future,” the statement said. “His appointment marks a significant milestone for our company as we continue our transformation and enter the final stretch toward our 100th anniversary.”
