Toronto Technician Wins Tickets To Up-Coming Honda Indy

Jack Chahenian, owner of GTEK Auto in Toronto is the proud winner of two tickets to the upcoming 2011 Honda Indy to be held on Friday, July 8. The two complimentary tickets were courtesy of Hot Wheels.

GTEK Auto was founded by Jack Chahenian in 1993 to serve the growing number of Porsche, BMW and other European vehicle owners in Toronto. A fan of the Honda Indy, he was, excited about wining a random draw for the tickets sponsored by SSGM Magazine.

To help racing fans and those new to the sport enjoy the speed, sound and excitement of IndyCar racing, the Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA) will underwrite the cost of admission for everyone to the opening day of racing at the 2011 Honda Indy Toronto this Friday, July 8. This is the second year that OHDA has sponsored Free Friday, which includes an important fundraising component to benefit Make-A-Wish Canada.

Visitors who attend the Honda Indy Toronto on Free Friday are asked to give a donation to Make-A-Wish Canada volunteers upon entering the CNE grounds in lieu of paid admission, which Honda Canada will match dollar-for-dollar. Race fans may also make a donation to Make-A-Wish Canada by texting DREAM to 41010 to donate $5. Last year, more than $112,000 was raised over the two-weeks of IndyCar racing in Canada (Toronto and Edmonton) to help make wishes come true for Canadian children living with life-threatening medical conditions.

In preparation for the race weekend, Honda Canada, IndyCar driver Oriol Servia and Canadian race car champion Paul Tracy are challenging Toronto media to put their pit crew skills to the test in a fun pit stop challenge. Toronto media can battle it out at the third annual pit stop challenge for bragging rights of being the fastest tire change crew in Toronto. A $1,000 donation will be made to Make-A-Wish Canada on behalf of the winning team. The winning team will also have the opportunity to be the first to sign Paul Tracy’s race suit that he will wear during the Honda Indy Toronto on Sunday, in support of the charity. The event is being held tomorrow on the southwest corner of Bay and Wellington Streets, downtown Toronto and will begin at 12 noon.

There will be no reserved seats on Friday (except for designated corporate suites), so fans can select any seats on a first-come/first-served basis, even in the Gold and Silver sections around the track.

Fans will have the opportunity to experience an exciting and diverse race schedule throughout race weekend, which includes the IZOD IndyCar Series, Firestone Indy Lights, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship and, for the first time, the Ferrari Challenge.

The Honda Indy Toronto marks the 9th race of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series season.Tickets for the Honda Indy Toronto are available at www.HondaIndyToronto.com/tickets. Ticket information is also available by calling (877) 503-6869.
