He’s a car guy, to be sure, and this November Tonight Show host and legendary car enthusiast, Jay Leno, will headline at one of the premier events slated for Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week: the 2005 SEMA Industry Awards Banquet.
The banquest will be held Thursday, November 3rd at the Las Vegas Hilton Center.
Leno has been a frequent visitor to various SEMA shows and has exhibited his own cars at what is regarded as the premier automotive specialty trade show in the world-the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
“SEMA has had the pleasure of displaying some of Jay Leno’s extensive car collection in the past, now we are fortunate enough to have his extensive talent at the awards banquet,” said Mitch Williams, SEMA’s incoming chairman of the board.
Leno is no stranger to automotive style and performance. He is the owner of over 30 classic cars, 40 motorcycles and the rare McLaren F1 supercar. His first automobile was actually a 1934 Ford V-8 truck which he restored himself at the age of 14. In 2004, his restored and accessorized Oldsmobile Toronado turned heads at the SEMA Show.
The night will begin with a reception from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dinner and the awards presentation will start at 7:30 p.m. A performance by Jay Leno will cap off the annual SEMA Industry Awards Banquet held Nov. 3 at the Las Vegas Hilton Center.
Exhibiting companies will receive their banquet reservation forms in early July. Tickets for general attendees will become available after Aug. 15 on a first come, first serve basis. Approximately 3,000 people are expected to be in attendance.
The 2005 SEMA Show, Nov. 1-4, will mark the event’s 38th anniversary and its 28th consecutive appearance in Las Vegas. The qualified trade-only exhibition is now ranked as a top event on the international automotive calendar and rivals many of the world’s traditional auto shows for overall attendance and new product introductions. This year Honda, the official manufacturer of the SEMA Show, will debut the all-new 2006 Honda Civic-Si.
