Tight Canadian Budgets for the Canada…

Tight Canadian Budgets for the Canada Day Weekend

In a recent survey conducted by Toronto based Sensors Quality Management Inc., 1000 Canadian adults were asked, “What do you plan on doing during the Canada Day long weekend?”

Of those surveyed, 42% indicated they would be staying in town, while 26% would be going to a cottage.

Of the remaining respondents, 16% indicated they would be traveling outside of the country.

11% of respondents mentioned they would be doing a staycation involving day trips, with other responses, included bbqs, hitting the beach, and going to the nearest golf course.

Comments in the survey indicated that the decline of longer trips is caused by the rising price of gas as well as the lower Canadian dollar.
