Pickup trucks account for 30 per cent of aftermarket spending: SEMA report

Pickup trucks remain the largest vehicle segment in the automotive aftermarket, generating US$15 billion and accounting for 30 per cent of all specialty-equipment spending, according to a new SEMA Market Report.

The report, released ahead of the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, found suspension products represent the largest truck and off-road aftermarket category at US$3.15 billion, followed by off-road and oversized tires at US$2.23 billion.

According to SEMA, growing demand for truck, off-road and overlanding products continues to drive aftermarket growth. The association also noted increased interest in racks, cargo management systems, roof-mounted carriers and rooftop tent platforms as consumers outfit vehicles for outdoor recreation and travel.

“The truck and off-road segment is a cornerstone of the SEMA Show and one of the most dynamic areas of growth in the aftermarket,” said Tom Gattuso, vice-president of events at SEMA.

The 2026 SEMA Show takes place Nov. 3-6 in Las Vegas and will feature more than 2,000 exhibiting brands.
