The Automotive Parts Rebuilders Association (APRA) and the Auto Electric Rebuilders Association of Canada (AERAC) have announced a "Salute to Barney Kaplan" day on September 19, 2003 in Detroit, Mich.
Bill Gager, APRA president, announced, "This special meeting salutes long-time APRA member Barney Kaplan, of Barney Kaplan Surplus. Barney received the highest association honor in 2002 when he received the J.W. Bolton Award for extraordinary contributions to the automotive and truck parts rebuilding industry. He also received several special Van Alen Awards over the years for his contributions to growing APRA membership for over 60 years."
AERAC president, Jeff Reynolds, stated, "Canadians have always appreciated Barney’s dedication and service to our industry and his help in building support and interest in our association by recruiting many new members."
Reynolds added, "This is our opportunity to honour an industry veteran and legend."
On September 20th we will hold a special one-day program featuring Mohammad Samii discussing "On-Vehicle-Troubleshooting and Diagnostics." He will also cover ways to grow this type of business if you’re already doing it. And, if you’re not, he’ll show you how to get into it.
Bob Evans of Lester Catalog will provide the audience with some technical updates and Jeff Reynolds will close the clinic with a panel discussion on general marketing, business and technical issues affecting the rebuilder.
