American Remanufacturers, Inc., (ARI) has announced the ISO 9001:2000 certification of its ABS Friction Materials Division in Guelph, Ont.
ARI began the process in May of 2001, with the development and approval of a detailed implementation and certification plan. The ISO 9001: 2000 certification covers the quality assurance system for integrally molded disc brake pads for import and domestic passenger cars, light and medium trucks.
Rick Jamieson president of ABS states, “The new ISO 2000 standard focuses on the customer and is a real improvement over the 1994 standard. ABS is pleased to be one of the first companies in our industry who have achieved this new standard. Over the past five years ABS has demonstrated a continued customer focus but this qualifying process has given us an opportunity to review and make improvements to our operations.”
“We have found the feedback we have received from customers to our surveys to be a real benefit to both ABS and the customer. It really helped us focus on customer specific needs,” says Ralph Neil director of sales.
