Ranger, a division of BendPak, has introduced the LS45DS sonar wheel balancer, featuring 3D auto data entry technology. The system combines sonar, laser, and digital sensor technology to automate measurements and reduce manual input, helping technicians complete balancing tasks more consistently.
The LS45DS automatically detects wheel width using sonar, eliminating the need for manual calipers. A sliding index arm quickly measures offset distance and wheel diameter, while laser‑guided weight placement improves accuracy during installation. Together, these features help reduce errors and speed up the balancing process.
Built for productivity, the balancer includes a quick‑release clamping nut to reduce setup time and improve workflow. It supports wheels from 12 to 24 inches in diameter and up to 145 pounds, with multiple balancing modes for different applications.
The LS45DS uses collets for more precise wheel centring, improving balance accuracy and reducing the risk of damage to wheel finishes. A flange plate system provides additional mounting accuracy and protection, particularly for performance and specialty wheels.
“The LS45DS is our top‑of‑the‑line balancer, engineered to maximize productivity, minimize mistakes, and enhance customer satisfaction,” said Sean Price, director of product development.
