Quebec ‘s Dorval Auto Parts…

Quebec ‘s Dorval Auto Parts Named Jobber of the Year

#aftermarket – The Dorval Auto Parts group based in Montreal, Quebec, has been selected as the 2015 Jobber News Jobber of the Year.

Dorval Auto Parts, a Bestbuy Distributors Shareholder, operates three stores in the region as Dorval Auto Parts, St-Henri Auto Parts and Sources Auto Parts with Alex Trichas, Chris, Nick and André Dimopolous at the helm.

In addition to running a successful auto parts operation, the family members are active participants in the Bestbuy Distributors group they are shareholders in and have turned their attention to fundraising for cancer patients

Seven years ago, they teamed up with Hope & Cope, offering to raise much needed funds for ActivOnco, an innovative, highly effective, individualized exercise program that teaches cancer patients how to incorporate physical activities into their daily lives, both during and after cancer treatment. ActivOnco staff also are conducting research on how exercise can prevent and/or mitigate serious treatment side effects such as radiation fibrosis and osteoporosis.

Held each September at St. Maxime Park in Chomedey, Laval, the 2014 walk-a-thon raised $72,000, double the amount raised in 2008, when the first walk-a-thon was held. In fact, the combined seven-year total is an impressive $359,000.

“Being named Jobber of the Year is a great honour. It’s really a shock. This is the most prestigious award in the industry and we thank the team at Jobber News and the selection committee for choosing us,” says Alex Trichas.

He also thanked the entire team of staff members for helping to make Dorval the organization it is, and of course his cousins, brothers Chris, Nick, and Andre Dimopolous.

A full profile of the Dorval Auto Parts business will be featured as the cover story in the July issue of Jobber News Magazine.

The Jobber of the Year Award is formally known as the E.J. and A.E. Wadham Memorial  Award in honour of the founders of Jobber News in 1931. For more than 30 years, the award has recognized the best among Canada’s auto parts wholesalers for their success in business, contributions to the automotive aftermarket, and outstanding community service.
