CRC Industries is expanding its Brākleen brake cleaner line with two new formulations, including a product that will be available in Canada, as regulatory and performance requirements for automotive maintenance products continue to evolve.
The company introduced CRC Brākleen Platinum Brake & Parts Cleaner and a reformulated version of its Brākleen Brake Parts Cleaner at SEMA and AAPEX 2026.
Brākleen Platinum is a non-chlorinated, all-in-one brake and parts cleaner with less than 10 per cent volatile organic compounds (VOC). CRC says the formulation provides 10 times the cleaning power of leading low-VOC non-chlorinated formulas and will be available in Canada and 49 U.S. states.
“CRC pioneered the aerosol brake cleaner category with Brākleen more than 55 years ago, and we’ve continued to lead through innovation and performance ever since,” said Len Mazzanti, CEO of CRC Industries. “CRC Brākleen Platinum™ represents the next step in that legacy to help technicians clean faster with fewer products.”
The company is also reformulating its Brākleen Brake Parts Cleaner, sold in its familiar red can. The patent-pending product will use a non-flammable formula with less than 10 per cent VOC while retaining its fast-drying and residue-free characteristics.
CRC said the reformulated product is designed to meet regulatory requirements and will be available across all 50 U.S. states.
Both products are displayed at SEMA and AAPEX in Las Vegas.
The company said the product changes come as evolving regulations, safety considerations and technician requirements continue to affect the brake-cleaning category.
