New Rolls Royce Chief in Canada

Rolls-Royce, a world-leading provider of power
systems and services, has appointed Michel Toutant as president & chief operating officer – Rolls-Royce Canada Limited, effective June 1, 2007.
He succeeds Pierre Racine who has announced plans to retire.
In this role, Mr. Toutant is responsible for in-country management of all Rolls-Royce business units in Canada encompassing some 1,600 people in seven locations in six provinces.
He also runs the company’s Canadian Aero Repair
and Overhaul (AR&O) business.
Based in Montreal, Mr. Toutant reports to James
M. Guyette, chairman, Rolls-Royce Holdings Canada and Miles Cowdry, President – Rolls-Royce services, respectively.
Mr. Toutant joined Rolls-Royce Canada in 1999 as director, Aero Operations.
Two years later he became vice president, components, AR&O and in 2004, he was named vice president and general manager, gas turbines.
Last year, Mr. Toutant relocated to Mount Vernon, Ohio, global headquarters for Rolls-Royce energy systems Inc. to become vice president, strategic operations.
James Guyette said: “With proven operational skills and a strong strategic mind, Michel will be an asset for us in Canada and indeed around the world.
We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber to succeed Pierre, who has made so many valuable contributions to Rolls-Royce over the years.”
Mr. Racine will retire from the company in July after more than 8 years as president – Rolls-Royce Canada.
He first joined Rolls-Royce in 1995.
