Mr. Lube has weldomed new franchisee Mike LeSage, who opened his first Mr. Lube franchise location in Barrie in May. Based on the success of this location, LeSage recently purchased three more existing franchise locations in the communities of Oakville, Burlington and Newmarket.
Mr. Lube franchises typically require an investment of between $300,000 and $1.2 million per location; LeSage’s acquisition of these four locations heralds a growth trend for the Canadian owned and operated company, which aims to open nine more new Mr. Lube locations across Ontario by the end of 2006.
“Ontario is an important market for Mr. Lube, where we plan to focus our growth efforts over the next several years. We are looking forward to extending our presence in the cities of Barrie, Burlington, Oakville and Newmarket,” said Bill Ticknor, President, Mr. Lube. “We are confident in Mike’s franchise expertise and ability to support the company’s continual growth while contributing positively to these communities.”
Since opening the first-ever quick lube operation in Edmonton in 1976, Mr. Lube has expanded extensively across Canada, growing from 45 stores in 1985 to a total of 88 locations in 2005.
Familiar with the local business climate, LeSage has been contributing to these Southern Ontario communities for more than 5 years as owner of various franchise businesses including Boston Pizza restaurants in Pickering and Scarborough, and most recently, Mr. Lube.
“Our franchise group is excited to become an integral part of these four Southern Ontario communities and to develop great relationships with the residents. Our Mr. Lube locations will offer exceptional customer service and are committed to community investment,” said LeSage. “As Mr. Lube franchisees, we’re proud to be contributing to the economic growth of these cities.”
