Jobber of the Year Presentation Attracts Top Names

With some 40 senior executives in the room, Scott Scherr and Wayne Scherr, owners of Warehouse Services Inc., in Edmonton, Alta., accepted the 2011 Jobber News Jobber of the Year award.
“I’m really just here to pick up this award,’ said Scott Scheer, calling it the “Oscar of the Aftermarket.” “It’s really for all the staff at WSI, and everyone who has worked so hard. We’ve had quite a bit of growth in the past few years and they deserve credit for that.”
Formally named the E.J. and A.E. Wadham Memorial Award after the founders of Jobber News Magazine, published monthly since 1931, the award recognizes the very best in Canadian automotive aftermarket wholesale parts distribution for their success in business, service to the industry, and community commitment.
“As individuals and as a company, they have demonstrated much commitment to the community and the industry as well as epitomizing the role of jobber as a partner with his customers,” said Jobber News publisher Andrew Ross. “We all talk about the importance of training. This organization has done more than talk about it, they have made investments to get customers access to training without hesitation; and in a move to bolster participation in the industry, they have rewarded those who excel at the apprenticeship level.
“They have built real success with real service and a real commitment to the industry.
“They have grown and evolved and kept their customers their number one focus. It is an organization that we are proud to have as part of the automotive aftermarket.”
