International Show Announces Nominees For Grands Prix Awards For Technical Innovation

The international jury of the Equip Auto 2005 Grands Prix for Technical Innovation has announced the 24 candidates in the running for awards to be presented during the exhibition in Paris, France.
The awards will be presented October 14 at a special ceremony on the show grounds.
The International "Grands Prix" Awards for Technical Innovation were created twenty years ago during EQUIP AUTO 1985, with the objective of promoting the technology of vehicle equipment manufacturers to a wider audience in the automotive world. Since then these awards have become a major event in the automotive news calendar with impressive media impact both in France and internationally.
The International Grands Prix for Technical Innovation are jointly organized by EQUIP AUTO, the AJTE (Association of European Technical Journalists) and the AFPA (French Automotive Press Association), with the participation of the international press. The prizes will be awarded by an international jury made up of 75 journalists from 21 countries, including Canada.
Their aim is to select and reward the most innovative concepts, products and services from among the new offerings presented by exhibitors at EQUIP AUTO.
The jury this year is chaired by: Bertrand Gay, chairman, assisted by David Giardino, vice-president, and by Jean Pierre Durand, technical director).
Thjs October two trophies (gold and silver) will be awarded in the following categories:
– Engineering and Advanced Technology
– Spare Parts and Aftermarket
– Garage Equipment

EQUIP AUTO put in place an extranet site to organize the shortlisting process this year, making it possible for the entire international jury to access all applicant dossiers, with no delay for translation or transmission however distant the country of origin.
As a result all candidates, from every continent, were able to compete under the same conditions and, moreover, provided well-documented dossiers that were then immediately made available, in complete confidentiality, to all the 75 French and international members of the jury.

The 10th International Grands Prix for Technical Innovation awards ceremony will take place on the afternoon of 14 October (exact time to be announced), Jean Thves Auditorium, Conference Center (Hall 4), before a large audience of automotive industry and media personalities.
