Honeywell Friction Materials Reports a Strong ’08

Friction linings specialist Honeywell Friction Materials say they have achieved a strong increase in sales in the first half of 2008.
Sales in the second quarter alone outstripped the corresponding figure for 2007 by US$35 million.
Key growth markets were OE business in Europe (15%) and China (41%), while North America, Australia and the European aftermarket experienced a slight decline, as expected.
Dr. Rainer Bostel, president Honeywell Friction Materials, observes : “The good results show we are on the right lines.
“Our prime focus now is on expanding production capacities, so as to enable us to meet the globally rising demand for disk brake pads.
“We are also investing heavily in research and development, in order to ensure that our customers retain their competitive edge in the future, too,” he adds
