Upgraded ATF Meets GM “H” Specifications for Dexron-III Fluids

Petro-Canada’s DEXRON-III/ MERCON and Synthetic Blend ATF fluids have been upgraded to meet the new “H” specification required for General Motors’ DEXRON-III service fill automatic transmission fluids.

The “H” specification replaces the current “G” specification, which has been in existence for over 10 years and is based on older ATF technology. The new specification is intended to ensure that the fluid’s life is maintained for 100,000 miles under normal operating conditions and 50,000 miles under severe operating conditions. The new ATF offers improved oxidation stability and wear protection as well as a smoother gear shifting transition.
