Bestbuy Distributors held its two-day trade show recently, attracting more than 1,000 shareholders and installers, as well as making a substantial contribution to the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children.
Bestbuy, which recently added Independent Distributors Limited to its list of shareholders, took the opportunity of the event to announce a contribution of $40,000 to the hospital, for a cumulative total of $440,000 in the past 17 years.
“Many people don’t realize that the hospital caters to kids from all over North America,” says Dov Lidor, executive vice-president of Bestbuy. “This hospital is one of two in North America that specialize in cardiology for kids; one is in Boston, the other is in Toronto. So it’s a cause that all people can support across Canada.”
The show featured compressed hours, which helped to keep the aisles full, and there were a number of new names on display at the show, the product of company name changes as well as the increase in the number of lines available through Bestbuy.
“The comment I have gotten is that it was the best show ever,” says Lidor.
