Beyond The Cabin-Air Filter

While cabin air filters are designed to capture airborne contaminants such as soot, dirt, pollen, and other pollutants that enter a vehicle’s cabin through its heating, air conditioning and defrosting system, modern HVAC systems trap more moisture than in the past, creating a habitat for mould, mildew, and bacteria to be regularly blown into the passenger cabin and colonize where moisture collects.
To deal with this problem UView Ultraviolet Systems Inc. created its Mist Solution, a portable 12V ultrasonic unit designed to give technicians an added preventative service. The unit utilizes a nano- droplet delivery system that circulates through the vehicle’s HVAC system significantly reducing the amount of contaminants and bacteria present (in particular, mould).
In instances where a cabin air filter needs replacing, this presents technicians with a unique opportunity for customers that have severe allergies, small children, or are just more health conscious than normal.
