Equip Auto 2003 Sees “Dramatic" Rise International Visitors

A few hours before closing its doors last week, Equip Auto 2003 had already registered 131,139 entrances, of which 26% were international visitors, representing and dramatic increase.
These results confirm the extraordinary success of Equip Auto, held biennially in Paris, France. Equip Auto is a truly global event bringing together the entire automotive industry from design through to maintenance.
The proportion of overseas visitors up from 20% to 26%. Furthermore, these 34,096 international visitors (+38%) representing the global markets were from the world’s most dynamic automotive industries, in particular from Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, (China, Japan and South-East Asia) and of course from the EU.
Exhibitors from all sectors, from design through to maintenance, stated that the exhibition had generated numerous leads in an excellent business climate, and the 2,000 firms present over Equip Auto 2003’s 200,000 m of exhibition space reported a high level of activity and a marked increase in business.
In-depth analysis of the visitor statistics (+6% all nationalities and activities combined) will be released at the end of November, at the same time as the results of the qualitative and quantitative visitor and exhibitor surveys by Equip Auto’s three shareholder partners (FIEV, FFC and COMEXPO Paris).
Equip Auto’s success was also evident in the level of attendance at the talks and presentations, in particular the Equip Auto Global Forum, the Aftermarket Symposium, the Bodywork Colloquium, the Higher Education conference and the Technology Talks.
