EMCON Technologies today announced it would close its light vehicle emissions facility in Concord, Ontario, by October 2008 due to over capacity in the North American Light Vehicle market.
The Concord facility is a producer of exhaust systems for the North American light vehicle market and employs 128 production-related employees, members of the United Steel Workers union, and 14 salaried employees.
Manufacturing in Concord will be relocated to EMCON Technologies’ existing locations in Columbus, Indiana, and Dexter, Missouri.
The company and union will commence discussions on the closure process starting the week of August 25.
