The effect of the current turbulent economy on the collision repair industry will be discussed by both economists and industry experts at the Canadian Collision Industry Forum on January 24th in Toronto. Alan Flewelling of RBC Dominion Securities will present an economic update with an emphasis on small businesses, while Rick Turri of Audatex will present trends and forecasts for collision repair in 2009. The OEM slowdown and its effect on bodyshops will be addressed by Tony Canade of Assured Automotive.
Participants will also be brought up to date on a Toronto environmental reporting by-law, the mercury switch recovery program, and the CCIF Skills Program. Kim Roberts will share her experience in “green” marketing for a collision shop and Cindy Macdonald will present the results of Bodyshop magazine’s second Waterborne Benchmark Survey.
The meeting takes place at the Marriott Toronto Airport hotel. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., and the meeting concludes with a reception at 4:30 p.m. To register, visit www.ccif.net or call 905-726-9027.
