Montreal based UAP Inc., owned by Atlanta-based Genuine Parts Company (GPC), is re-branding its operations and products under the NAPA label. GPC operates the NAPA network of automotive parts stores in the United States.

Operators of over 600 Canadian-owned and affiliated stores learned about the branding change first hand from company executives at the UAP/NAPA National Business Conference held at Toronto’s Royal York Hotel in February. A reconstruction of a future NAPA store, a very different environment from the familiar UAP/NAPA operations, was on display.

“This re-branding operation is a lot more than changing signs on the buildings,” said UAP Vice-President of Marketing Simon Weller. “The NAPA stores and the NAPA brand will provide added value to our customers with new products and programs, new systems and new information technology.”

The re-branding conversions are expected to roll out over a 3-year period.
