TERRACLEAN Model 201100 Fuel and…

TERRACLEAN Model 201100 Fuel and Emissions System Cleaner

TERRACLEAN has reinvented the brand’s original fuel system cleaner into a streamlined package that eliminates the “mad scientist” look of the original models. The new unit encases the electronics inside a streamlined high-impact poly case that’s easily transportable with its integral handle and is compact enough to store under a bench or in a cabinet. The system is 12 volt vehicle-powered, and uses compressed air (standard shop pressure is fine) to drive the cleaning chemicals into the engine.

Setup is simple and straightforward. The first step is to hook up to vehicle battery, attach charging hose to fuel rail, then add cans to top of unit, charging it. Disconnecting the fuel pump keeps the vehicle running entirely on the TERRACLEAN product, typically at about 2000 rpm. Depending on the engine size, the engine runs between 20-30 minutes for the whole treatment. Two cans of cleaner are used. The first can deep cleans fuel rail and injectors on heavily contaminated or gummed vehicles, while the second can adds carbon cleaning of combustion chambers as well as O2 sensor and catalytic converter treatment. An advantage of the system is the ability to drive and E-test the vehicle immediately after the TERRACLEAN treatment. The system is safe for OBD II vehicles.

Equipment that cleans fuel systems is a good idea, but does it make money? A typical service is billed at $139 to $149 for the complete treatment, with a recommended annual retreat. A key selling point is that the unit electrically treats the cleaning chemicals, so it’s different from conventional pressurized-can treatments.

“Other treatments use drugs, but TERRACLEAN uses vitamins”, declares Tony Ferraro, President of UView Ultraviolet Systems, manufacturer of TERRACLEAN, who explains that the unit should pay for itself very quickly. “A typical return on investment could be as little as 20 services”, he declares.

The unit weighs 20 pounds and can be carried by a molded handle on top. A tough HDPE case is gas and oil resistant. The unit ships with adapters for 7/16 and 5/16 fuel rail adapters, which store in a compartment in the unit back. Adapters are available for all popular domestic, Japanese and European vehicles as a complete kit, or individually. The unit is available coast-to-coast.
