Newmarket, Ontario-based Snap-on -Industrial has signed a five-year agreement with the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) School of Transportation to retool the institute’s Motive Power shops and labs. The agreement includes continued support of the BCIT/BCAA High School Auto Skills Challenge, bursaries and scholarships for BCIT students and a program to allow qualified technical students to buy Snap-on products at best prices. Snap-on Industrial and BCIT will also collaborate on promotional programs to raise awareness and encourage young people to pursue careers in the motive power industry. Part-time program needs will also be addressed, providing enhanced skills upgrading courses for professional automotive technicians.
