Innovative Business Series coming to GTA

One-day event to feature presentations from high profile industry leaders who will share insights on key topics that impact the current automotive aftermarket industry in Canada.

The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA) will take its Innovative Business Series to Ontario on September 7.

The series, which debuted earlier this year in Atlantic Canada, focuses on how to gear up for change and stay ahead of disruptive technologies.

It features three high-profile industry experts, addressing some of the most pressing topics in the market.

Peter FriseDr. Peter Frise of the University of Windsor, will discuss where automotive technology is going and why, and how it will impact Canada’s vehicle manufacturing sector, the automotive service and repair sector, and how shops will need to respond to these trends to remain profitable in the future.

David ChalkDr. David Chalk will look at vehicle security in the modern age. His presentation, entitled “Remember to Lock Your Car” explores cyber security, vehicle ‘hacking,’ and what the future holds. Specifically, he’ll look at how the automotive aftermarket will change as more technology is introduced, and how the technology will it impact supply chains and customer relationships.

Jamie CuthbertJamie Cuthbert will tackle the topic Driving Millennial Loyalty. According to Cuthbert, millennials are your next big customer group… and the sooner you adapt, the bigger slice of the pie you’ll capture. He’ll look at the key motivators for millennials and how providing information to them will earn their loyalty. The tricky part is getting the information from the technician to the counter and over to the millennial consumer. This session will explore options in the market to build that relationship.

The full-day event takes place at Paramount Eventspace in Vaughan, Ont. Registrants are encouraged to take part in the “Show Your Ride” contest and BBQ Lunch.

Participants will also have the opportunity to learn, network, and have some fun in the process with a silent auction to raise money for High Fives for Kids.
