CARS (Canadian Automotive Repair and Service Council) have launched a comprehensive multimedia career awareness resource package designed to give young people and their parents a realistic picture of the automotive repair and service field of work. The worker profiles and accurate, up-to-date information enables students to explore the industry, while educators and industry stakeholders principals benefit from an Industry Presentation Guide that provides strategies and presentation tips to help increase awareness of industry occupations and to present an accurate image of the automotive repair and service field today. According to CARS, businesses benefit in several ways when promoting the automotive repair and service industry as a good field in which to work:
Better customer understanding of the work being done;
Better customer appreciation for the people doing the work;
Enhanced customer relations;
Potential new customers; and
Greater trust on the part of well-informed customers.
