Bosch Produces One Billionth Fuel…

Bosch Produces One Billionth Fuel Injector

Robert Bosch Corporation is celebrating another major milestone with the production of its one billionth fuel injector for gasoline engines.
Bosch, the industry pioneer and world leader in innovative fuel injection technology and design, produces over 80 million fuel injectors every year for vehicles all over the world.
“Bosch supplies fuel injectors and fuel injection systems to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the automotive aftermarket. To meet the demand for high-quality fuel injectors, Bosch produces almost 220,000 units daily at seven production facilities around the world," notes Chuck Ruth, Director of Product Management, Engine Management Systems, for Bosch. In addition to being the leading OEM supplier in the U.S., Bosch also has high market shares in Western Europe, Latin America and China.
“Bosch provides advanced fuel injector solutions, in addition to the injectors themselves, that promote cleaner, more fuel-efficient gasoline and natural gas engines. For example, in 2001 Bosch introduced the EV 14 injector for port fuel injection systems, which can reduce hydrocarbon emissions up to 15 percent. Other new developments include fast switching high-pressure piezo injectors with piezo actuators for gasoline engines and the next generation injector for compressed natural gas (CNG) engines. CNG, in addition to being a cost-efficient fuel, can lead to a 30 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions."
