Auto Value/Bumper To Bumper Awards…

Auto Value/Bumper To Bumper Awards $32,000 In College Scholarships

Two Canadians are among the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper scholarships awarded to employees and/or their children by the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance.
Since the program began 15 years ago, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been dedicated to helping employees and their family members continue their education.
Students seeking a scholarship wrote a 200-word essay on “What I hope to accomplish through my post high school graduation.” From all eligible applications, 32 students were selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used at the trade school, college or university of their choice for the fall 2011 semester.
“Continuing education can be expensive and we don’t want anyone to choose attending school or not based on financial resources. That was the main reason we created this scholarship program,” said Dave Kimbell, chairman of the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Education Committee. “It was hard judging submissions because they all were worthy. We’re pleased that we are able to do this for our associates and their families.”
Lorena Moir, of Winnipeg, Man., Piston Ring Service and Mathew Dueck, St. Andrews, Man., Dawson Enterprises Ltd. were among the scholarship recipients.
