The Automotive Retailers Association of British Columbia (ARA) will spotlight diversity and equality in the automotive industry at its “Women in the Automotive and Powersports” industry event June 27.

The day-long event is aimed at corporate executives, mid-level administrators, technicians, educators, and potential new hires.

The ARA planned the event to give attendees an opportunity to discuss ways to show support, promote women, and identify challenges and solutions in the automotive industry.

A mini-expo will allow visitors to network with other members and allow businesses, educational institutes, training and recruitment centers to showcase opportunities and attract new employees.

Speakers will include Leah Gillanders, the Red Seal certified auto technician and owner of Leah’s Automotive; Kathy Kinloch, president of BCIT; and Annabelle Cormack, president of Cormack Recruitment.

The event will be held at the Executive Suites Hotel and Conference Centre in Burnaby, B.C.
